Introduction

Theme: Biomarker Studies in Early Clinical Trials: Potential and Pitfalls

An important role for the NCRI within Experimental Medicine has emerged through discussions with various stakeholders in order to provide a focus for sharing information and providing strategic direction and coordination in the cancer field.

In addressing this need, a suggestion emerged for a new scientific forum for experimental cancer medicine researchers to get together and share results and experiences.

As a result the NCRI hosted the first meeting of the Early Clinical Trials Forum on 7th December 2006. 

The next Early Clinical Trials Forum will take place in January 2008.
