Biosample Search Portal

About the Biosample Search Portal

The CCB Biosample Search Portal allows researchers to search for the availability of biosamples of interest to them on the databases of those CCB Members who are involved in the Biosample Search Portal Initiative.

To search for biospecimens; please select from the drop down menus and press ‘Search’. If you are unsure what morphology you require, select ‘ALL’.

Please contact the NCRI at ccb@ncri.org.uk should you have any queries or experience any difficulties in using this site.

Limitations of the Biosample Search Portal

The CCB aims to develop the functionality of this portal over time.

Whilst the site is under development, users should be aware that:

  • If searching biosamples on the basis of diagnosis/morphology not all available biosamples will be retrieved because of differences in the biosample annotation systems used by the different CCB Member Biobanks.
  • If you would like normal undiseased tissue samples, or morphologically normal samples from the vicinity of diseased tissue, please contact the individual biobanks to enquire about availability.
  • Information on biosample availability is uploaded onto the Biosample Search Portal monthly thus actual figures may vary slightly from those shown.
  • Please note it is the responsibility of individual Biobanks to ensure accurate and up to date data is submitted to the Biosample Search Portal.
  • The material on this site is as current and accurate as possible. However, neither the NCRI nor the individual CCB Member Biobanks are liable for any errors, omissions or inaccuracies and use of material by third parties is therefore at their own risk

We value your feedback. Should you have any questions or comments about the Biosample Search Portal, please email us
