More about this event

This multidisciplinary NCRI/RCS event to shape the future of surgical trials was led by Mr Stuart McIntosh, Queen’s University Belfast.

We welcomed surgical consultants, trainees, patients, methodologists, trial unit staff and researchers to this workshop which aimed to create recommendations for future surgical research priorities evaluating the extent of surgical treatment, particularly in the evolving context of neoadjuvant treatment.

Key topics included:

  • Designing and delivering pre-surgical trials
  • Role of surgeons in window of opportunity studies
  • How to evaluate the extent of surgery in clinical trials
