DEMENTIA AND NEURODEGENERATIVE DISEASE RESEARCH NETWORKS
NIHR DeNDRoN (England)
One of six topic-specific Clinical Research Networks funded by the Department of Health in England, Dementias and Neurodegenerative Diseases Research Network (DeNDRoN) supports the development and delivery of clinical research in the NHS in the dementias, Parkinson’s disease, motor neurone disease, Huntington’s disease and other neurodegenerative diseases. DeNDRoN supports the collaborative development and writing of new research grant applications through financial and administrative support.
DeNDRoN has 7 Clinical Studies Groups (CSGs) with an equivalent remit to the NCRI Clinical Studies (Development) Groups (CS(D)Gs): overseeing existing studies, considering new research questions, developing proposals and securing funding from UK Clinical Research Collaboration (UK CRC) partners, as well as providing expert advice. As well as disease specific CSGs, there are also Primary Care, Clinical Research Methodology, and Neuropathology and Brain Banking groups.
