Introduction

Tim Eisen

Hutchison/MRC Research Centre, Cambridge, UK

Neo-angiogenesis is an attractive therapeutic target because all solid tumours depend on it to grow.  The international faculty of this session will review our understanding of the basic biology of neo-angiogenesis, how that knowledge can be translated into clinical benefit and the current state of anti-angiogenic treatments used either alone or in combination with chemotherapy.
