2011 Pfizer Excellence in Oncology Awards
The 2011 Pfizer Excellence in Oncology Awards are now closed
The 2011 Pfizer Excellence in Oncology Awards are seeking the outstanding individuals and teams who are improving outcomes for cancer patients in the UK. The Awards recognise and reward innovative and effective cancer services and support the spread of best practice throughout the oncology commmunity.
The 2011 winners will be announced at a dinner ceremony on Tuesday, 8 November during the National Cancer Research Institute (NCRI) Cancer Conference in Liverpool.
Poster prizes
Abstract authors can choose to be considered for these poster prizes during the abstract submission process.
Please note: abstracts will only be shortlisted for these poster prizes if they are submitted by 13th May 2011. Late-breaking abstracts will not considered by the award selection panels.
British Association of Cancer Research (BACR)/Gordon Hamilton-Fairley Young Investigator Award
The BACR/Gordon Hamilton-Fairley Young Investigator Award recognises and encourages the talents of more junior cancer researchers. Applicants must be clinically or scientifically qualified, but not more than 5 years post PhD/MD, and must have held BACR membership for at least one year.
Children's Cancer and Leukaemia Group (CCLG) McElwain Award
The CCLG McElwain Award will be given to the best poster in children's cancer research. Applicants must be clinically or scientifically qualified, and not more than 15 years post-PhD/MD.
National Cancer Research Institute (NCRI) Prize Awards
The National Cancer Research Institute’s Prize Awards will give PhD students who submit an abstract as first author the opportunity to be considered for a prize bursary of £250 towards the cost of attending the Conference.
Richard Hambro Student Prize
The Richard Hambro Student Prize will be open to UK PhD students. Further details to follow.
AstraZeneca Student Prize Award
The AstraZeneca Student Prize Award is open to PhD students and will cover the cost of registration and travel (up to a maximum of £200 for UK travel and £500 for international travel).
All poster prize winners will be publicly acknowledged at the Conference.
