More about this event

This multidisciplinary NCRI/RCS event to shape the future of surgical trials was led by Mr Angus McNair. We welcomed surgical consultants, trainees, patients, methodologists, trial unit staff and funders to this workshop to address key challenges in surgical research.

This interactive workshop provided guidance on outcomes of surgical trials. Key topics included:

  1. How do we address the challenges of selecting and measuring surgical outcomes?
  2. How do we define outcomes for surgical feasibility studies?
  3. What outcomes are important in early phase evaluation of novel surgeries?
