Clinical Trials Units (CTUs) are specialist units which have been set up with a specific remit to design, conduct, analyse and publish clinical trials and other well-designed studies.

Collaboration between CTUs, working in partnership with clinical investigators (CIs), and pharmaceutical company partners is a key aspect of UK clinical cancer research and has been a key contributor to the growth of clinical trial activity in cancer over the past decade. In order to expedite successful partnerships, a consistent approach to collaboration is required.
